I know all or most of you do this too. When I go to yard sales, after I look at books I look at other things too. Some things are obviously worth buying, but I thought I'd pass along a list of a few of the other less obvious things that I've bought at yard sales and made good profits on that you might want to watch for too:

Boxes of old keys- Skate keys are very collectable, and other keys also sell well in batches
Super Nintendo Fantasy Games-Not sports games though
Ice Skates-as long as there are no cracks where the blades connect to the boot
Boxes of old buttons
Nylon stockings in the original box -Antsy suggested this and they sell well!
Nike anything! Jackets, Sneakers [especially Air Nike], Accessories, etc. Need to be in good shape but not necessarily pristine either

I go for needlework of all kinds right away -- many sales sell cross stitch or needlepoint kits for fifty cents and these always make a profit and are easy to scan and mail. Knitting wool, needles, magazines, boxes of ephemera, pristine (name brand) baby clothes like GAP, Ravensburger games and puzzles. I know I'll come up with more

At yard sales and especially auctions I always check for old ladies hankies. They usually sell a boxful cheap. Many, many times I've gotten $10-$20 for one hankie which more than pays for the whole box - several times over. They don't have to be fancy ones, any with edge work sell (as long as they're clean and no holes). Any of them with holes I sell as a lot and put 'Crafting hankies' in the title. Those always go also. Any hankies with lilies, mums or state hankies do well. Christmas hankies do especially well in lots. Crafters love Christmas hankies....????
